 Autumn Term Attendance

 During the Autumn Term 72 children managed to be in school every day. Here they are pictured with their certificates for a fabulous achievement. Well Done!

 Junior Christmas Show 2016

 The first night of our Junior Christmas show was last night, and what a spectacular show it was.  The children and staff have outdone themselves this year to put on a wonderfully entertaining version of Mr Humbug Sees The Light.

 Rory Thornton from the Ospreys came to visit us last week for a Q & A session with class 9.

This visit was arranged as part of the Ospreys Community Project, and as you can see all the children were super excited to meet him.

Also a big thank you to Clive Oliver who is the Schools & Clubs Community Rugby Officer.

 Eisteddfod 2016

We held our annual Eisteddfod on Tuesday 1st March 2016. Congratulations! Every class made a tremendous effort to represent the best of Wales, including traditional folktales, dancing and of course singing.  We even had our own Cwmglas 'Take me Out'.  Well done to everyone who took part.

Mrs Abbot Retires

 Mrs Ann Abbot retires after 28yrs at Cwm Glas.  Pupils and staff gather to bid a fond goodbye and lavish her with gifts on her last day at school.

 Extreme Reading 2016

Once again we held our 'Extreme Reading' competition, and once again you have surpassed yourselves.  The entries this year were the best yet.  Well done to all who took part, and we hope the winners enjoyed their prizes.

 World Book Day 2016

 Thursday 3rd March 2016, Cwm Glas celebrated World Book Day. Everyone took part in book related activities thoughout the day, which included the children having stories read to them by visitors. A big congratulations to all the children and staff who took part and dressed up as their favourite book characters!

Every year your generous contributions to our Harvest Festival exceed our expectations, and once again you did not disappoint.

Your contributions went to the Foodbank organization in Swansea to help families in times of need. 

Thanks to your generosity we were able to show how Cwm Glas really supports this essential organization.

 HSA School Fete

Pupils, parents, carers, friends, family, all came along to our Autumn Fete, and an amazing £1100 was raised with your help. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your participation.

 In September 2014 Swansea City Council were give permission by The Welsh Government to issue penalty notices around City Schools from January 2015.

This will lead to safer roads, ease congestion and assist the local economy.  Read the full notice here.


If your child needs medication during school hours. Please contact the office, as a form needs to be filled in with the necessary details.

Maths Week 2016

 This year, once again our 'Maths Week' was a great success. Lots of parents came along to support their children and join us for a cuppa and a slice of cake in our Maths Cafe.  We also included an Internet Safety talk, given by PC Craig - our community liason officer - who highlighted the dangers of social media. 


This year we are using Big Maths as part of a strategy to improve Maths across the school.  In order that you may help your child at home with this important subject we have included a link for you to download the 'Times Tables' songs that we use in school.

 Cwm Glas Primary School awarded third Eco-Schools Green Flag

Our School has been awarded its third Green Flag, celebrating our hard work for the environment.

Staff and pupils are thrilled to have obtained the award from Eco-Schools.
