Main Areas of Study

Maths – place value, 4 – rules of number, measuring, fractions, decimals, percentages and data handling

Language – recount, explanation and instruction writing. Spellings, comprehension skills, reading and handwriting.

Science – Materials and their properties and the sun and our solar system.

History – The Celts

Geography – Eco Schools           

R.E. - Places of Worship

P.E. - Football, netball and gymnastics

How You Can Help At Home

  • Please send any interesting objects to school (not valuable items, please).
  • Please listen to your child reading at home every night (a Reading Diary is provided for you to make comments).
  • Visit the local library to choose books relevant to topics being studied at school.
  • Talk to your child about the range of geographical features in their locality.
  • Homework will be sent home every Friday, to be in by the following Tuesday.
  • A spelling list will be sent home every Monday. Children will be tested on these words on the following Friday.
  • PE/Games kit required on and – please sent in at the start of the week.
  • Please send £1 for fruit tuck on a Monday if your child would like it.
  • If you send any money to school please write the child’s name on the envelope and the amount.
