Theme: Science – Moving and Growing ; Geography – Study of Welsh MaterialsRE – Natural World; Personal & Social Education (PSE) – Health & Emotional Well-being; Emotional Literacy – Content & Jealous; History – The Stuarts; P.E. – Games – Rounders/cricket; Digital Competency; Copyright and Searching. 

Main Areas of Study

  • Share stories that talk of Creation and the damage to it and how we can put it right.
  • Understanding of emotions associated with feeling content and jealous. Linking into any personal experiences.
  • Look at and contrast between rich and poor Stuart houses/lifestyles.
  • Look at The Plague, discussing how it started and how it ended.
  • To discuss the importance of keeping healthy through a healthy diet and exercise.
  • Focusing on the functions of the organs in the body.
  • Looking at and discussing the main bones in the human skeleton.
  • Physical education will focus on hand-eye coordination games – rounders/cricket.
  • Looking at local Welsh artists and how they use line, tone and colour.
  • Digital Competency – children to focus on looking at copyright and plagiarism. Discuss how we can use search engines correctly.
  • Mathematics focus for the term: Money, Temperature, Shape, Movement, Fractions, decimals and percentages.
  • English focus for the term: Information writing and Poetry. 

Ways Which You Can Help At Home

  • Please send any interesting objects to school (not valuable items).
  • Please listen to your child reading at home every night (a Reading Diary is provided for you to make comments).
  • Visit the local library to choose books relevant to topics being studied at school.
  • Homework will be sent home every Friday, to be in by the following Tuesday.
  • A spelling list will be sent home every Monday. Children will be tested on these words the following Friday.
